The first project that introduced me to UX/UI design — while working for Endeavor Greece in Athens, my manager asked me to redesign the company's landing page.

There weren't clear instructions as to what, but for me to deliver something better. Before I even knew what a double diamond process was, I started by reviewing the existing website and analyzing what I found confusing and what wasn't adding value.

Then, I asked who this website primarily serves? Endeavor is a global organization that supports and funds high-impact entrepreneurs in emerging markets. They have branches all across the world and have contributed massively to the success of many unicorn companies.

For the Greek branch, their website primarily serves their entrepreneurs and employees. For an effective design, our landing page should clearly convey who we are, what we do, and how we do it without any user friction.

I found their current landing page to be a bit overwhelming and thought we could convey information in a clearer flow.

I found their current landing page to be a bit overwhelming and thought we could convey information in a clearer flow.

After knowing who we're designing for and scrolling through the landing page, the current design was ineffective in a few areas:

  • Many of the news stories and other sections were outdated, providing no value to the user.

  • User flow should prioritize the most important information: entrepreneurs, catalyst fund, then our story.

  • Some sections have sloppy UI (showing one post and leaving others blank)

For my redesign, I identified these problems to fix for the new user experience.

I presented this to my manager, not knowing whether or not I had designed for the right things, and she was happy with the direction! She set up a meeting with Endeavor's external design agency, Holy, and we talked about the new design going forward.

Parts of my design proposals are being implemented in the new design.
